Rice field flooding

A time series of Formosat images was acquired over Arles area, near CNES calibration automatic station, located on La Crau. This image also includes a small part of the Camargue with rice fields. The Formosat time-series enable to monitor the flooding of the rice fields, then the beginning of the vegetation growth. The image on the left is in true colour, the one on the right presents the vegetation index, which clearly shows the surfaces covered by water (dark blue) or by active vegetation (from yellow to dark red).
